Made for Me by Zack Bush Review

Made for Me By Zack Bush

Book Description

Of all the children that ever could be,
You are the one made just for me.

From a child's first uttered "Da-da" to her first unsteady steps, nothing can adequately convey the joy and awe of watching the birth and growth of a new child. Filled with adorable illustrations and the refrain, "You are the one made just for me," Made for Me is a winning presentation of tender moments that tie a father and his new child together—forever.

I received a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review- The perfect bedtime book for little one to enjoy.  I would read this outloud for  a wonderful bonding experience.  The rhyming words are soothing to a younger child and the illustrations bring out a few giggles.

Good Idea Drinks Review

Good Idea® – the Swedish Sugar Buster notably known for helping a healthy person handle the sugar spike following a carb-rich meal has made its way to the NorCal region and is now securing placement at a growing number of retailers. The company GoodIdea Inc, originally from Sweden and now located in San Francisco is excited to have a growing footprint in a community that’s comprised of health conscientious people who are observant of what they eat and drink.

Most people would perceive Good Idea as just another flavored sparkling water, but the fact is that it is far from that. The “supplement facts” on the backside of the can reveal a proprietary blend of five amino acids and chromium, clinically proven to help the body handle the blood sugar spike following an ordinary meal rich in fast carbs. Good Idea is the result of years of research and development conducted by Good Idea Inc´s Swedish mother company Aventure AB and the Food for Health Science Centre at Lund University in southern Sweden.

“We´re on a mission to bring health to the table”, says GoodIdea Inc´s CEO Björn Öste. “Many of the meals we eat, like burgers, pizzas, fries and even sushi contain fast carbs that turn into sugar in the blood vessels. In the long run this puts a strain on the body, and adding soda makes the problem even worse. We see a trend coming, where people replace their sugary drinks with water, and adding the functionality of Good Idea, we are at the forefront.”

I received complimentary product.

Cassandra's Review-   While I can not give you any scientific or break down of ingredients or health and safety advice of this product, I can tell you that it taste good.  It is not geared for diabetics or anyone with a blood sugar problem, so it's like a normal drink for normal people.   I would not let my children drink it, but I am fairly certain there would be no need for them to want it either as it is probably not intended for younger ages anyway.   I would ask your doctor before trying this if you are unsure.

Also you can take some time to find great eats to go with the Good Idea!

The Hundred Story Home By Kathy Izzard Review .@kathyizardclt

The Hundred Story Home: A Memoir of Finding Faith in Ourselves and Something Bigger

Kathy Izard was a graphic designer, wife, mother of four daughters, and volunteer at Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center when an unlikely meeting with formerly homeless author Denver Moore changed the course of her life. Inspired by Denver’s challenge to do more than serve in this soup kitchen, Kathy quit her job to take on what seemed like an unimaginable task in her second half of life—to build housing for Charlotte’s homeless.

Woven together in this motivational story of a call to social action is Kathy’s personal journey to define the meaning of home and her own struggle with faith, family, and fulfillment. Reading this book will not only make you believe you can change the world, it will also end up changing you.

I received a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's review-  A story, a time and a challenge- not to get through without feeling a connection to the author.  The writing style is heartfelt and pure, with so much to offer as far as inspiration and take aways.  You could read a chapter quickly but then think about it for days.   I am so glad there are such good hearts in this world and that the author was able to open up and share her ups and downs in a way that is not boring or overly done.  To Kathy if you read this review, I need to say thank you for helping what society sometimes feels wasted and unloved people and reminding my spirit to be more humble.

When God Happens By Angela Hunt Review

When God Happens: True Stories of Modern Day Miracles

A car flips over on the highway and bursts into flames. A father hears devastating news about his unborn child. A teenage girl follows a friend to a dangerous party.

Then God happens.

If you have ever doubted the miraculous power of God, prepare to be astonished. Here, real people share true stories of modern-day miracles—moments of divine intervention when the hand of God was briefly and beautifully revealed. Edited by bestselling authors Angela Hunt and Bill Myers, the eight stories in When God Happens include first-hand accounts of medical healing, angelic visitation, and demonic possession.

As Hunt and Myers write, these testimonies “are a reminder that the God who reached down to touch those He loved in Bible days has not changed. He has not turned His back on us or left us to our own devices. As Scripture also states, ‘[He] is the same yesterday, today, and forever.’”

We pray these stories inspire you to look to God for the deepest needs in your life as you discover how He has worked in the lives of others just like you.

I received a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review- If you believe you will, acheive the blessing and spiritual love of this book.  Could you imagine a world where anything is possible? If you just open your mind and heart to the stories in this book and choose to believe they are real and they are miracles, it can create a really good feeling in your mind as well as body.  Not everything included is a rosey time, but the author gave fact as she learned it and felt it to be true.

Dangerous Good by Kenny Luck Review

It’s time to wake the sleeping giant in our world, in our communities, in our churches, and in our homes.

There’s a revolution brewing, a sleeping giant coming out of a long slumber. For years men have been sitting to the side, minding their own business, nursing their own wounds. But that time is reaching its end. Our wounds must surely be tended to, and our business must surely be minded. We are meant for greater things than these, and the world can no longer indulge our slumber. Justice demands a response to these troubling times. Righteousness demands a champion to counter a climate of moral relativism. God made us men; it’s time to act like it.

Good men are in high demand but low supply. That reality is creating suffering and injustice at every level of society in every community worldwide. Dangerous Good calls on the millennial generation of men who follow Jesus worldwide to confront that by deciding, individually and as a group, to be dangerous with goodness like Jesus. Here is the next revolution of masculinity the world is waiting for.

Cassandra's Review Q&A-

- What did you like about the book and why? It offers men a good dose of reality in the faith based world and helps them to find not only communication but so much more.

- What did you not like about the book and why? I feel like this might condemn some men and create guilt where the book was set more to inform.

- What did you learn? As a female I felt this book was geared only towards men and that is great, but I was able to learn about the author and his way of going about teaching.

- To whom would you recommend this book and why? My first thought is men of a working age that can start a family and need to think or be humbled by a new beginning.  I am now thinking that any age from older teen male would benefit if they love and believe in God.

I received a complimentary copy.

My Sister’s Intended by Rachael Anderson
My Sister's Intended (Serendipity Book 1) by [Anderson, Rachael]
For as long as Prudence can remember, it has been understood that her sister will one day wed the eldest son of their nearest neighbor. Such an alliance will benefit both families and bring a great deal of joy to all parents involved.

Unfortunately, Prudence has never been able to feel as joyful. She believes her sister is mad to consider marrying a man she hardly knows, even if he will one day make her a countess. Titles and wealth shouldn’t factor into matters of the heart, and as an aspiring romance novelist, Prudence cannot fathom how anyone could even think of settling for less than love. She certainly wouldn’t, and she doesn’t want her sister to either.

Unable to stand by and do nothing, Prudence sets out to help the awkward couple discover the best in each other with the hope that they will eventually find love. What she neglected to foresee, however, was the possibility that she might fall in love with Lord Knave herself.
