The Apprentice by [Pullen, Rick]
Tish Woodward is on a roll—her investigative reporting of a horrific crime has catapulted her into the national spotlight. But is it talent or just dumb luck? The rookie newspaperwoman dreads that the world will wake up and realize she lacks the depth and experience to take on her new assignment— President-Elect Derrick Templeton, a billionaire oil and real estate baron with no political experience.

Woodward navigates the labyrinth of Washington’s political world getting ever closer to the truth about Templeton, yet she doesn’t know whom to trust. This is Washington, of course, where motives are always suspect and allegiances change like the weather—all in pursuit of raw power. In this fast-paced, gripping tale of deception and deceit, Woodward realizes she is way over her head with nowhere to turn for help. She has taken on the most powerful and vengeful man who will ever occupy the White House—and he now has his sights clearly set on her.

RICK PULLEN is a novelist, award-winning investigative reporter and magazine editor. His 2016 thriller, Naked Ambition, about a reporter investigating a corrupt presidential candidate, became a bestseller. The Apprentice is his latest release. In 2018, newspaper reporter Beck Rikki returns as she sets out to discover the Naked Truth, the sequel to Naked Ambition. Pullen is a member of the Folio 100—the 100 most influential people in magazine publishing—and was a finalist for Editor of the Year. Learn more about his books at

Cassandra's Review-  There is a good storyline and the charaters are formed in a great way.  It was not a super fast pace and could be easily stopped in between chapters if you have other things to do.  The ending was good but not something unique.  In all the author did a great job of putting out a full story.

Cassandra's review-  Could you imagine a few moments with your God everyday without feeling guilty or kids going crazy around you?  Well for some people mornings are hectic enough and do not include the quiet , peaceful splendor of connecting with God on a real deep level.  The book gives women hope and time to spare.   It takes guilt out of that little spare time you have and creates a few short moments of peace in the Lord.  It is faith based and does require you to actually take time to read.

How I Met Your Brother $25 Amazon GC or Paypal Cash Giveaway

How I Met Your Brother by Janette Rallison The best day of his life, the worst day of hers. Back in college, Marco Dawson never thought of Belle as anything more than a friend. If she had crossed his mind on his wedding day, it was probably only to wonder why she hadn’t shown up to be a bridesmaid. After all, his new wife was her old roommate. Seven years have passed since then, and Belle just found out that Marco is divorced and vacationing with his family in an elegant Cancun resort. She’s not about to let the right man get away twice. She heads to the resort where she plans to casually bump into Marco and ignite some romantic flames. But Belle hadn’t planned on one thing: Flynn Dawson, Marco’s handsome, charming, and determined twin brother. He thinks Marco and his ex-wife can make amends and he’s not about to let Belle stand in the way. Part Sabrina, part While You Were Sleeping, romantic comedy readers will eat this book up!

Author Janette Rallison Janette Rallison is old. Don’t ask how old, because it isn’t polite. Let’s just say she’s older than she’d like to be and leave it at that. Janette lives in Chandler, Arizona with her husband, five children and enough cats to classify her as “an eccentric cat lady.” She did not do this on purpose. (The cats, that is; she had the children on purpose.) Every single one of the felines showed up on its own and refuses to leave. Not even the family’s fearless little Westie dog can drive them off. Since Janette has five children and deadlines to write books, she doesn’t have much time left over for hobbies. But since this is the internet and you can’t actually check up to see if anything on this site is true, let’s just say she enjoys dancing, scuba diving, horse back riding and long talks with Orlando Bloom. (Well, I never said he answers back.)
