I recevied complimentary product.

Cassandra's Review-  I found the shears to be easy for me to handle and they did not hurt to use.  I could cut up raw summer squash more easily than butternut squash because of the harder texture, but the blades are super sharp.  You have to use your own manual hand power, there is no trick to them and they handle like scissors.  They have a great cover and fit into a medium purse or diaper bag for on the go.  You also get to select the size right for the age appropriateness.  I did not have a hassle cleaning them and they can be easily stored.

Piggy Paint Review

Piggy Paint is a natural, eco-friendly nail polish for kids. Its non-toxic, hypoallergenic formula makes it safe to use on all piggies.

Piggy Paint dries to a hard, durable finish that can easily be removed with our eco-friendly, low odor Piggy Paint nail polish remover. Both are made in the USA.

I received complimentary product.

Cassandra's review- It has a scent that is not very nice, but it does dissipate.   I found it a bit hard to take off, but it did not leave any stains.  It did kind of chip a bit when washing my hands.  I think they are great for older kids that can paint and use these safely because they like to practice and change colors a lot.  The little bottles are great for tiny hands, but I was able to use it with no problems as well.  When using a thin layer they do dry fast.

Rock the Locks Hair Care Products for Kids without the harsh chemicals Review

The makers of Piggy Paint, a non-toxic, kid-friendly nail polish brand, introduce Rock the Locks. Piggy Paint is a brand that is recognized and trusted by parents to produce safe, quality products.

Rock the Locks was founded on these same principles and created by Moms seeking natural hair products that actually work.

Rock the Locks is infused with essential oils and scented with super fruit extracts.  Say good-bye to artificial fragrances, alcohol, sulfates, parabens, and phthalates.

Quality formulas developed and tested by salon professionals.  Rocks the Locks products are made in USA, cruelty-free, and yes, affordable.

I recevied complimentary product.

Cassandra's Review- I enjoyed the beautiful scent as well as the way the products were able to provide a good hold.  I like that if you move your hair when it has the product on it, it does not leave white flakes everywhere.  If you have someone that has hard to control hair, this set might work really well and cause less harm than regular harsher product.

Do Your Children Believe By Terence Chatmon Review

Do Your Children Believe?: Becoming Intentional About Your Family's Faith and Spiritual Legacy
by Terence Chatmon

(From Goodreads)

Are your children ready to live out their faith in the real world?

Most parents who value Christian faith want their children to enjoy a vibrant, growing relationship with God, both now and throughout their lives. But few of those parents ever attach this hope to an ongoing plan; therefore, they fail to lay a reliable spiritual track in front of the fast-moving train of family life. This book is a junction point where deep parental desire meets workable design and where timid inadequacy meets Christ’s sufficiency. It’s where individual families become multiplication factories, exerting a lasting impact not only on their coming generations but even on the culture at large.

The death of Joshua and his contemporaries was barely old news in Israel before the people of God experienced a Judges 2:10 moment: “There arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done” (ESV). One generation is all it takes. One generation who stops remembering. One generation who stops creating. One generation blinded to God’s real work in their lives who then subtly quiets the expectation of His new work in succeeding generations.

Do Your Children Believe? appears at a time in history when another Judges 2:10 moment doesn’t sound so incredibly far-fetched—a day when many people’s only real knowledge of God comes from what they’ve heard and read about, not what they’ve actually seen and experienced, and when His work is more about the dutiful following of rules than the daily adventure of walking with Him as Lord.

Imagine, instead, a generation of your family who knows God with intimate familiarity. Who doesn’t just pretend at faith but actually lives it. Kids who can tell you what they believe and why it matters. Teenagers who handle adversity with the resilient joy of godly wisdom. A family who prays together and worships together, growing into young adults who are equipped and inspired to keep this torch ablaze from the moment their own new families begin.

This book is here to make that reality happen, written by an author equipped with not only a passion for the concept but also a proven plan for success—a wealth of first-hand personal stories from his wife and kids for how they’ve put this plan into living action with remarkable blessings in tow. When God puts His power behind families who embrace this kingdom call, on-the-ground change will result in off-the-charts revival.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review-  Growing up, when my family member found God at a church one day they decided for everyone that there would be a change, it was not a good way to introduce faith more strongly in my early years and I felt forced to believe.  It actually for a long time ruined my experience with my own faith.  I now as an adult understand that while we all want our children to believe how we do, it is not wise to push so hard that they break.

The book is both good and bad but the reader needs to use it as they feel best when connecting to the topic.  Also in my opinion when you push your faith on to someone, it does not help and can do serious damage.  I am not saying to go about life in the dark, just do not blind someone with your light.

Collateral Damage By John T. Chirban Review

(From Goodreads)

Based on research from more than 10,000 surveys from children and parents of divorce, Collateral Damage presents parents with an overview of the impact that divorce has on their children and offers ways to better serve their needs at this critical time.

Approximately fifty percent of marriages in the United State fail. Add to that the increasing number of couples who never marry, have children together, and later go their separate ways. In all of these scenarios, children suffer greatly—often in silence, as parents do not know how to effectively guide their kids. When the sorrow and emotional issues of children are not addressed, the cycle of divorce is likely to continue for them and in generations that follow. In addition, while children may appear to be resilient and adjusting, without proper support children of divorce are more prone to drug and alcohol abuse, criminal behavior, mental and physical illness, and suicide.

How can parents manage their own hurt, shock, anger, and despair so that they can provide their children with what they need?

Collateral Damage sounds a wakeup call for parents. It identifies the landmines inherent in the dangerous terrain of divorce and equips them to help their children not to feel abandoned or unheard. Topics covered include:

Building the family—not losing it
Tuning into your kids
Stabilizing childhood
Maintaining parent/child roles
Avoiding the parenting handoff
Keeping kids out of the war zone
Instilling trust
Keeping open lines of communication
Attuning to guiding, spiritual resources

The failure of a marriage does not mean the end of the family. Providing a stable, supportive, healthy relationship with your child demonstrates what a loving relationship looks like, better preparing them for intimate relationships and marriage as an adult.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review-  The book covers some really hard topics that most families can have trouble expressing with their kids.  It offers guidance and strength within its pages and the author spares no truth when hitting topics.  I would recommend anyone going through this tough time to read and relax with this book knowing that you can be more informed.

The Most Misused Stories in the Bible by Eric J. Bargerhuff Review

(From Goodreads)

Are You Sure You Know What Your Favorite Bible Stories Mean?

A surprising number of popular Bible stories are commonly misused or misunderstood, even by well-intentioned Christians. In this concise yet thorough book, Eric J. Bargerhuff helps you fully understand the meaning of David and Goliath, Jonah and the Big Fish, the Woman Caught in Adultery, and other well-known Bible stories.

Providing fascinating historical and scriptural insights, Bargerhuff helps you sort through modern-day distortions of fifteen well-known Bible stories and grasp their original meaning and purpose for us today.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review-  If you count the way the author choose to tell his version of they are used, you can see this book is just another long winded way for someone to find another meaning in stories that any will interpret as they see fit.  Sadly people use the Bible as a way to either teach or torment and it is up to the reader as well as the listener to take what they believe and how the perceive to heart, not what others portray as right or wrong.

Depression, fear, a sense of unworthiness, and unfulfilled dreams can make women retreat to their beds--figuratively and literally--and refuse to face life. Yet most of the time, hiding in bed makes matters worse. Who needs emotional bedsores? Authors Martha Bolton and Christin Ditchfield gently show women how to climb out from under their emotional bedcovers, face their fears and doubts, and step into the lives God has planned for them.

Compiled as a collection of short, mostly humorous and warm hearted stories, it offers readers practical, concrete steps to help them move forward when they are ready. Essays are interspersed with special humor features such as "Top Ten" lists, while "Whenever You're Ready" sections offer Scriptures, journaling questions, and practical suggestions for "putting your feet on the floor" and "taking a few steps forward." It Started With Goodbye By Christina June Review

9780310758662, It Started with Goodbye, Christina June

Sixteen-year-old Tatum Elsea is bracing for the worst summer of her life. After being falsely accused of a crime, she’s stuck under stepmother-imposed house arrest and her BFF’s gone ghost. Tatum fills her newfound free time with community service by day and working at her covert graphic design business at night, which includes trading emails with a cute cello-playing client. If Tatum is reading his emails right, her virtual Prince Charming is funny, smart, and talented—and he seems to think the same about her. Too bad he’s spending his summer across the ocean in Ireland…not that Tatum would be allowed to go on a date anyway.

But over the course of the summer, Tatum will learn that sometimes going after what you want means breaking all the rules. And when Tatum discovers she’s not the only one in the house keeping secrets, she finds she has the chance to make amends with her family and friends. Equipped with a new perspective, and assisted by her feisty step-abuela-slash-fairy-godmother, Tatum is ready to start fresh and maybe even get her happy ending along the way. A modern play on the Cinderella story arc, Christina June’s IT STARTED WITH GOODBYE will appeal to fans of Sarah Dessen, Stephanie Perkins, and Jennifer E. Smith.

She lives just outside Washington, D.C., with her husband and daughter.

Cassandra's Review- Perfect for young hearts, this book has a clean amount of love as well as a great storyline to keep your teens very interested.  While I think the girls will swoon far more over the book, boys might enjoy it as well. A well written tale that the author captures you into.
