Cassandra's Review-  My dogs really enjoy the Whimzees brand and I like giving them the fun shapes.  The shapes and sizes are great for any dog no matter what size, but  the tiny toothbrushes are adorable for the tiny dogs.  They go fast in this house and they do not make my dogs drink more water after eating like some other treats can.  The veggie sausage was a surprise and even the cats tried to eat them, although I could not let them.   Hopefully the brand will expand to cat treats as well.

Spring Fun with Winning Moves newest games! Review

 GAME OF THE STATES™

Kids learn all about the United States by racing their trucks across country buying and selling goods along the way. Players will become familiar with the fifty states, their locations, capital cities, top products and learn interesting STEM facts about each state!

Cassandra's Review- So much fun and super educational, my kids had a great time playing and the pace is as fast as your family wants to play.   The board has great color and the cards are perfect for teaching.

The original version is back by popular demand and today's kids will be puzzling, sketching, sculpting, acting and code-cracking with the Cranium Cadoo game.

Cassandra's Review-  Super Fun and easy for all skill levels.  My family had a great time and plan to play this over and over again because it does not get boring.
Nibbled is a fast-paced, easy-to-learn game that starts with kids clipping 4 plastic fish onto themselves. Guess a color - flip a card. Guess correctly - unclip one fish and clip it onto an opponent. Winner is the first player to unclip all their fish!

Cassandra's Review- This game is more for the little kids and if you leave the fish on your fingers they can hurt after a bit, but they are only supposed to clip to your clothes not skin.  Also the smaller kids would rather just clip the fish around the house.  So depending on your child this can be a great game.

A unique social, skill and action game where the task is to add water - one drop at a time - to the cup floating in the water filled Sunk tank, without causing it to sink.

Cassandra's Review- I prefer this to be played outside, but it is fun and requires a bit of skill.  As long as the kids do not water each other, this is a great game. It does mix skill with action but at a very steady pace.
Ever wanted to know how a Rubiks Cube is made? Now you can make your own and learn how to solve it at the same time!

Cassandra's Review- If you have any aged person that loves to build and then play, this is going to be a great especially if they have a thing for rubiks!!!!
The easy-to-grip Bear is much simpler than the original Rubik's Cube and will entertain kids with every twist and turn! Think of it as a "training" cube

Cassandra's Review- Adorable, super fun and easy for little hands to grip, this starter rubiks is a wonderful gift for kids, or even adults.
A triangular Rubiks puzzle - but with some key differences. There are of 10 individual pieces, four joining sections, and four colorful sides that need to be solved.

HINT: One of the features that makes the Rubik's Triamid difficult for a first-time user is the fact that about one third of the pieces' sides are hidden from view (they are inside of the Triamid). You will see many colors that aren't important to solving the puzzle. To solve the Rubik's Triamid, you must recognize which pieces are CORNERS and which pieces are EDGES. First, put the corners in their places and then solve the edges. Because of its versatility in moves, the Rubik's Triamid can be solved from any starting position.

Cassandra's Review- The kids did not want to mess this one up, so we tried moving it a little bit, but you really need to have a strong skill for the cube.  It is really cool to hold and look at.  The dynamic is just complex in an awesome way.

I recevied all of the games mentioned complimentary.

Zoom Boom the Scarecrow and Friends (Zoom Boom Book Series) By Joel Brown Review

Zoom Boom, the scarecrow is a fictional character who lives on a magical farm with his many farm friends.

The caretakers of the farm, farmer Don and his wife are very happy that Zoom Boom lives on the farm.

He helps many of the farm animals, to include those pesky crows stay out of trouble.  Zoom Boom is always there to assist and help the animals.

However, he learns a lot from them also, such as how to save money and how to recycle.  Zoom Boom main focus is teach children lessons from everyday life which will help them make wise choices, and be nice to others.

I received complimentary copies.

Charm and Dirty Bird are two characters from the Zoom Boom book series.  Their names are quite the opposite of their character.  Charm is very messy; whereas, Dirty Bird is very tidy. However, although they are different, they are still good friends.  Be Tidy, or Not?, is a book that allows the readers to understand and appreciate the differences in their friends.  It teaches children not to judge the differences, but to accept people as they are, allowing them to be tidy, or not.

Cassandra's Review- The books kind of have a creep factor for me, I know my kids did not like them very much.  I can see where the author might be trying to say something, but it just seems like a lecture more than a story.   Almost like he has bad kids that he wants to chastise.  One of my older kids said maybe zoom boom is the sound the author's hand makes when the kids are the characters (bad).  Or could you imagine a child saying that they are dirty birds.   It just did not seem right.   I was not thrilled with the smoker crow or the pyro, I mean how would introducing them to children could go either way.    Perhaps it is just a series of simple rules to get your child to behave?

Keep the kids Edu-tained with U.S. Cellular app choices #spon

Using mobile devices, such as the iPhone 7 and Samsung S7, and a high-quality network with national coverage help keep kids learning and entertained during long road trips with educational apps.

There are many alternatives to videos games and movies for keeping kids entertained on a long trip.

Parents don’t need to choose between entertainment and education – they can give their kids both.

Many of today’s best educational apps are built around games that make learning fun – from taking on tough math problems to learning a second language.

Many games are collaborative, so kids can compete against their friends whenever and wherever they are.

Many kids have their own mobile device these days:

It’s getting more common every year. According to a recent survey, 58 percent of respondents had at least one child with a cellphone – up from 49 percent in 2015.

The same survey showed 79 percent of adults had used their smartphone to assist them while traveling.

Mobile technology is increasingly a part of everyday family life, and that’s why we encourage parents to find ways to make that screen time educational.

Educational apps for parents to check out:

There are so many quality educational apps available today that we encourage parents to explore the App Store or Google Play. A few we recommend:
iPhone Screenshot 2

Duolingo is fun and effective for kids or adults learning a second language.
iPhone Screenshot 5

Hooked on Phonics is great for younger kids just learning how to read.
iPhone Screenshot 1

Mathmateer, which is available to iPhone and iPad users, will keep grade-schoolers busy with 56 fun math missions.
iPhone Screenshot 1

Stack the States is perfect for a cross-country trip, teaching kids about U.S. geography, state capitals and flags

How mobile technology can help parents make the most of that long road trip:

Mobile devices can help with every aspect of a road trip, from keeping the peace in the back seat to zeroing in on the cheapest gas and finding the perfect place to stop and eat.

We encourage parents to stop by a U.S. Cellular store in the area so our associates can answer questions and provide app recommendations tailored to their specific road trip needs.

Getting Jesus Wrong By Matt Johnson Blog Tour and Review

Getting Jesus Wrong
About the book:

Jesus is not a life coach, a movement leader, a cultural visionary, or a blessing dispenser-but you might not know that by listening to many Christians talk about their faith.

Feel-good slogans promote a caricatured Jesus made in our own image who cannot save us and leave us feeling guilty for not saving ourselves. Following the wrong Jesus disappoints us and produces anxiety, pride, and despair.

The first half of Getting Jesus Wrong recounts pastor and author Matt Johnson's personal encounters with a string of false saviors-false saviors that many, especially young adults, will recognize. Johnson's humor and transparency in recounting his own painful experiences will appeal to those who have tried a "brand" of Christianity and found it lacking.

The truth is, we all want something from Jesus. Some are just hoping for a little help to get through life-a new direction, a purpose that will get us up in the morning, an exercise plan, a way to get organized. But that approach to Jesus doesn't result in real faith or love.

Whether we've followed a false Jesus or attempted to coopt the real Jesus, Getting Jesus Wrong ultimately offers us hope because it helps us see Jesus as he is.  Getting Jesus Wrong shows that the message of the Bible is about Jesus coming to us as we are-which is good news for exhausted and disillusioned disciples. It shows us that getting Jesus right means a whole new way of thinking (the way up is down) and a whole new way of life (daily dependence on the one who knows the beginning from the end). Getting Jesus right gives us more than spiritual vitamins or a blueprint for living; it gives us a full, rich life spent exploring the depths of gospel love together.

Cassandra's Review-  I feel like the author is expanding the realm of possibility in faith, which is great because it helps otherwise stricter religion to open up.  The book deals with topics that are faith based and do get to the heart of some people's way of thinking.   It will be an interesting read for anyone who has a belief in God and wants to feel better connected.

A Strange Companion by Lisa Manterfield $100 Amazon Gift Card or Paypal Cash Giveaway

A Strange Companion by Lisa Manterfield Kat Richardson isn’t running away from grief; she’s just hiding out in a gloomy Welsh university town until she’s sure it’s gone. Now, one year, nine months, and 27 days after the climbing death of her first love, Gabe, she thinks she’s ready to venture out into the relationship world again. And Owen—a cake-baking, Super Ball-making chemistry student—appears to be a kind, funny, and very attractive option. But the arrival of Kat’s newly adopted niece, Mai, forces her home to northern England, where she runs headfirst into all the memories of Gabe she’s tried to leave behind—and discovers that Mai stirs up an unnerving feeling of déjà vu. Before long, Kat’s logical, scientific beliefs about life after death are in battle with what she feels to be true—that reincarnation is real and Gabe has come back to her through Mai. The question now, is why? Taking on the topics of love, loss, and how we deal with grief, A Strange Companion is a twisted love triangle among the living, the dead, and the reincarnated.   Praise for the Book “This beautiful blend of heartbreak, finding one’s self, grief, forgiveness, loss, and second chances, is a perfect rainy day read.
