Cassandra's Review-   I like the use of velcro for the patch and the standard onesie already has the back of the patch attached, so you can interchange them as wanted.  Each patch will fit the same place.  You do not get the option to place the patch wherever you want.  My little ones do not like tags, so I had to cut them off without trying not to rip the onesie, I would have liked this to be as tagless as possible.

I have never met a baby that could keep a onesie clean.  It was a smart choice to choose white as the option for the material. I can use a non chlorinated bleach to get the stains out.   I decided to air dry mine, but you can place it on a low tumble in a dryer.   These can not be used to sleep in, but mine did not last till nap time without getting messy anyway.  You also can not fully remove the patch so if the top is not in place then the surface material is still there on the shirt in case your little one has sensitive skin.

The patches are clever and each have the Baby Bubbles logo on them.

Cassandra's Review -  A mix of really weird surrealism and beauty.  You have to be into this type of thing in order to really get excited.  I am not a huge fan, so it was take it or leave it.  The drawings are well done and extremely unique.   Maybe teens might think it is cool.  As far as coloring, the book encourages you to be messy and have fun going out of the lines.  I personally find it more relaxing to try and stay in the lines so it really is based on preference.

Give It a Go, Eat a Rainbow by Kathryn Kemp Guylay Review

Are you a parent or teacher hoping to encourage children to eat more veggies and fruits? Want to support healthy eating messages in a fun, educational and positive way? Looking for great educational messaging with peer-to-peer messaging? Give It a Go, Eat a Rainbow uses charming illustrations by 12-year old Alexander Guylay combined with real-life photography and simple rhymes by award winning nutrition educator Kathryn Kemp Guylay to create an augmented reality that immediately draws kids into the story. Kids are introduced to Blake, the main character, who feels sleepy (low energy) and wonders why he doesn't have the energy to play like other kids.

Blake meets a friendly, magical leprechaun who takes Blake on a journey to find the pot of gold (a metaphor for good health and energy). Blake is shrunk down to tiny size and explores the colorful world of fruits and veggies. The colors (and fruits and veggies) lead to the pot of gold, where Blake feels vibrant and full of energy. The book addresses healthy eating, specifically fruits and veggies, in an engaging and positive way. Targeting early childhood and elementary school age groups, this picture book will be simple yet profound in promoting healthy eating habits in children. Each page is created for maximum engagement, using a delightful combination of photography, illustration, color and text. Think The Wizard of Oz meets Honey, I Shrunk the Kids meets nutrition and health literature.

As a principal of Healthy Solutions of Sun Valley, Kathryn brings wellness solutions to organizations and corporations through speaking engagements and workshops. You can hear Kathryn's voice on KDPI FM Ketchum when she hosts her own bi-weekly radio show on wellness topics.

Cassandra's Review- A book that will teach and entertain your child. Although an older child will read the answers without taking the time to guess, as they are written on the same page with the questions.  You can try and block the littler ones from peeking.  It is very colorful and provides a good lesson for teachers or homeschool parents to give.

Deadly Encounter By DiAnn Mills Review

Airport Ranger volunteer Stacy Broussard expected a peaceful Saturday morning ride around the perimeter of Houston’s airport. What she encounters instead is a brutal homicide and a baffling mystery. Next to the body is an injured dog, the dead man’s motorcycle, and a drone armed with a laser capable of taking down a 747.

Though FBI Special Agent Alex LeBlanc sees a clear-cut case of terrorism, his past has taught him to be suspicious of everyone, even witnesses. Even bleeding-heart veterinarians like Stacy. But when her gruesome discovery is only the first in a string of incidences that throw her life into a tailspin, Alex begins to wonder if Stacy was targeted. As a health emergency endangers Stacy’s community, and the task force pulls in leads from all directions, Alex and Stacy must work together to prevent another deadly encounter.

Next Door as It Is in Heaven By Lance Ford and Brad Brisco Review

There was a time when neighbors knew each other’s names, when small children and the old and infirm alike had more than their families looking out for them. There was a time when our neighborhoods were our closest communities.

No more. Neighborhoods have become the place where nobody knows your name. Into this neighborhood crisis the words of Jesus still ring true: Second only to the command to love God is the command to “love your neighbor as yourself.”

In Next Door as It Is in Heaven, Lance Ford and Brad Brisco offer first principles and best practices to make our neighborhoods into places where compassion and care are once again part of the culture, where good news is once again more than words, and where the love of God can be once again rooted and established.

Cassandra's Q&A Review

-What did you like about the book and why?  I like how the authors found a way to bring God back into the community.  I enjoy the topic.

- What did you not like about the book and why? I feel in today's world it is not safe to allow my family to bond with the community, there are too many people who are not responsive to religion and wish only to do harm.   If a teen or middle school child read this book and started to randomly go door to door with the word of God, they could get hurt.  Some of my neighbors are even sex offenders, so I do not feel this was a well thought out book.
- What did you learn?  That the authors think this world is safe and want everyone to bond, but do not think about all the negativity and violence in the world and how placing the wrong people together could bring pain and suffering.

- To whom would you recommend this book and why? Spiritual leaders, people of the church and anyone old enough to understand the safer ways to use the knowledge and facts presented.

Outlaw Christian By Jacqueline A. Bussie Review

Jacqueline Bussie knows that too many Christians live according to unspoken laws that govern the Christian life: #1: Never get angry at God; #2: Never doubt; #3: Never question; #4: Never tell your real story; #5: Always speak in cliches about evil and suffering; and #6: Always believe hope comes easy for those who truly love God.

Living according to these rules is killing real Christian life; Outlaw Christian proposes a rebellious, life-giving, authentic alternative. Through captivating stories and with disarming honesty, Bussie gives concrete, practical strategies to help readers cultivate hope, seek joy, practice accompaniment, compost their pain, and rediscover the spiritual practice of lament. Tackling difficult questions without political divisiveness, Bussie speaks to both progressive and conservative Christians in ways that unite rather than divide. And in doing so, she provides a new way to handle the most difficult and troubling questions of life in a broken world that God will never abandon."

Cassandra's Review-  It is easy to fall into the trap of being like everyone else and conforming to the standards of an old religion. With this book you are able to feel god in trying to set out in a new way while freeing yourself from the guilt of repetition in Christians focuses.  The books helps to find a way to break a cycle of focusing on how to be for God through old rules and changes the dynamic of how to go about still being true to your Christian faith.

A Doubter's Guide to the Ten Commandments By John Dickson Review

The Ten Commandments are perhaps some of the most well-known and vexed verses of the whole Bible. They have found their way into our art, monuments, literature, and culture—even into Richard Dawkins famed “Ten Atheist Commandments.”

In A Doubter’s Guide to the Ten Commandments, bestselling author John Dickson explores how these ten verses have changed our world and how they show us what the Good Life looks like. Whether or not one believes in the Bible, these ten ancient instructions open up a window to the Western world and on our own soul.

Cassandra's Review- A fresh spin on the Ten Commandments, through the mind of the author.  I know so many who use commandments for their own purposes and twist of the words of God into whatever they need it to be.  This book seems to dig up a better, clearer meaning for each one of them and how they all work together to create a more powerful meaning.
