Cassandra's Review- The box was packed with the smaller items. Everything was included as described and the shipping was fast. I think that this would be a great gift for any teacher especially female because of the added jewelry and brighter color selection. It is a great selection if you do not know what to purchase a for a gift. It contains relaxing items, without going over the privacy barrier between parent and teacher.

Pregnancy is a Real Mother By Jeffrey L. Zweig, MD Review

Pregnancy is a “Real Mother!”

Pregnancy is a Real Mother
By Jeffrey L. Zweig, MD
ISBN: 978-1-5053-1974-9

Want a book that is more “personal” than other books on the subject? Want a book on pregnancy that is easy to read? Looking for a book that is a “tell all” about pregnancy? Want to laugh and be amused by a book on pregnancy? If so, Pregnancy a Real Mother is the book for you. It is one of the most fascinating and captivating books published on the subject in over 20 years.

The title of the book says it all: a book with its own “personality” written by an Ob-Gyn who has delivered over 8,000 babies over 40 years of practice experience. Dr. Zweig’s goal in writing this book is to “answer all the questions” about pregnancy that are typically asked on a daily basis. The book starts out on the same journey of pregnancy that the expectant parents begin: from the positive pregnancy test to labor and delivery to newborn care.

All the technical information is presented but this book is different from all other books on pregnancy with:

1. Over 100 pictures of patients and nurses during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum

2. Anecdotes of real events that are tied to the information being presented

3. Doses of “humor” to keep the reader smiling and giggling You will enjoy reading the medical explanations of most of the “Old Wives Tales” near the end of the book. “Old Wives Tales” are followed by “Old Obstetrician Tales: “25 separate stories of actual patients with different pregnancy-related situations. These real life stories will intrigue you, make you laugh, bring you tears of joy and make you think.

About the author
Jeffrey L. Zweig, M.D., was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Santa Ana, Calif. He serves on the active medical staff at Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Southwestern Medical Center. He is skilled in obstetrics, with experience in ultrasound and high-risk pregnancies, gynecological surgeries, infertility and office gynecology, including treatment of menstrual disorders. He lives with his wife and family in Lawton, Okla. This is his first book.

Cassandra's Review- The perfect new book of reference for pregnancy help. The pages are filled to the max with so much information that it is going to make understanding the whole process so much easier. Of course it is not going to physically make the process better, but by mentally preparing you it can relieve some of the stress. I would suggest having a copy of this available for any person that is thinking of becoming pregnant or who is already. It even goes so far as including after delivery information. The illustrations are in black and white but are still very informative and detailed.

A Simple Formula for Raising Happy Children By Roger E. Herst Review

A Simple Formula for Raising Happy Children
Want your kids to be happy? If you’re like most parents, it’s your most fervent wish. But is this just a pipe dream? Or is happiness more substantive? Is it possible that parents can actually do something constructive to create happy children?

Roger E. Herst, author of “A Simple Formula for Raising Happy Children”, is an ordained Reform rabbi with MBA and doctorate degrees. A father and grandfather, Herst regularly engages with parents in the form of Platonic dialogue – a cooperative Q-&-A approach meant to stimulate critical thinking – to yield logic-based solutions for raising happy children.

Cassandra's Review- While I find the tips or steps in this book to be great, I also feel that not everyone is going to be able to implement them in the same way and so this is great for a thought provoking few moments of the day. I think the author is truthful and states what he feels to be the right ways of parenting. Unfortunately not everything that occurs to or with your child can be pointed back to the parent. So to be clear I find that this book is helpful to an extent but should not be used to cause dramatic change or point blame.

Cassandra's Review- With a baby food quality and taste these very little pouches are perfect for younger kids. If you have teens in the house expect them to want more than one and there are only 4 per box. So I would recommend them to any age, but if you are older do not expect this to be filling in any way. The taste is very good and I can see where these would become a fast favorite for on the go.
