Creation’s First Light By Sandy Sasso Review

On the first day of creation, God said, Let there be light,; and there was light. But it was not until the fourth day that God created the light of the sun and the moon.
What is the light of the first day and how does it differ from the lights of the day and the night?
Legend and imagination combine to tell the story of creation's first light, what happened to it and the surprising places where we can still find it.

Sandy Eisenberg Sasso was the first woman to be ordained from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She is the author of 12 award-winning children’s books and one book for adults, Midrash - Reading the Bible with Question Marks.

Her latest book for children, The Shema in the Mezuzah was selected as the 2012 Best Children’s Illustrated Book by the National Jewish Book Council. There are nearly a half million copies of her books in print. Rabbi Sasso lectures nationally on children and spirituality and nurturing spirituality and creativity through midrash.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review- While this is a beautifully illustrated, simple to read children's book, it has a powerful message and a light all of its own.

Holding Cell Review

As described on site:

http://buyholdingcell.com/

The Holding Cell is the perfect invention for holding and charging your cell phone or baby monitor anywhere, but specifically designed for you bed.

It allows you ease of access to your phone while keeping it organized and charging.

You will never need to sleep with the phone in your bed again or pick up your charging cord off the floor, but still have the convenience of not missing an important call or text!

It also converts to attach to any wall or flat surface making it great for dorms, hospitals, RV’s, boats and sofas too.

The Holding Cell is simple to use and can be mounted beside the bed by sliding the panel under the mattress so your phone is within arm’s reach. Wherever the user puts it, this handy storage unit will adjust in size to fit any phone or device.

The charging cord is safely captured through slots in the bottom to keep it from being lost or falling to the floor, and there is even extra storage space for additional cord.

The unit can be angled to allow for easier viewing of a phone's screen, and folds neatly away when not in use.

The Holding Cell provides the perfect place to store a phone, baby monitor or other electronic device during the night or anytime the user needs a safe and easy-to-access storage and charging solution so your charging cord is never on the floor.

I recevied complimentary product.

Cassandra's review-- The overall product is simple from the concept to basic design.  It is a piece of plastic strong enough to hold the phone, extra cord and kind of stays in place.

You are supposed to open it and slip it under a mattress or couch cushion, but I would not recommend using in under a couch cushion unless you do not plan on sitting with it there or if you have kids because like I said it just slides under and does not have any adhesive or attachment or grip.

I find a mattress to be heavy enough to keep this in place unless you have one that moves at night.

White Celebration Tour and $15 Starbucks card Giveaway

White by @denise_weimer is on tour with Celebrate Lit.  #giveaway

About the Book

When Jennifer Rushmore accepts a brooding bachelor’s job offer to act as coordinator for the restoration of his family’s historic doctor’s house (White), apothecary (Widow) and log cabin (Witch) in a rural Georgia community, little does she know it’s her own heart that will undergo the greatest renovation. Three stories. Three centuries. Three lessons on the healing of the heart. And one buried mystery that threatens their redemption.

White: As historic preservationist Jennifer and brooding bachelor Michael restore his ancestors’ historic doctor’s residence in a rural Georgia community, they uncover the 1920s-era prejudice and secrets that caused Michael’s branch to fall off the family tree. Recent graduate Jennifer is determined to fulfill her first professional position with integrity even if her employer lacks a proper appreciation of history. Far more challenging—and sinister—than the social landscape of Hermon are the strange accidents hinting that someone doesn’t want them on the Dunham property. Yet Michael’s and Jennifer’s own pasts pose the biggest obstacles to laying a fresh foundation of family and community.

Cassandra's Review- My main thought is that this author really took the time to think and create the best possible characters for the book.  It is very well written and easy to flow through without getting too long winded or causing me to lose any momentum.  I would recommend this book to older women who might enjoy this kind of topic.

I recevied a complimentary copy.
