I found an awesome article at Conserve Energy Future That helped me to really give us the best look at just what sustainable energy is:
This is Exactly as seen on the site
What is Sustainable Energy?
Sustainable energy is a form of energy that meet our today’s demand of energy without putting them in danger of getting expired or depleted and can be used over and over again. Sustainable energy should be widely encouraged as it do not cause any harm to the environment and is available widely free of cost. All renewable energy sources like solar, wind, geothermal, hydropower and ocean energy are sustainable as they are stable and available in plenty.
There are many forms of sustainable energy sources that can be incorporated by countries to stop the use of fossil fuels. Sustainable energy does not include any sources that are derived from fossil fuels or waste products. This energy is replenishable and helps us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and causes no damage to the environment. If we are going to use fossil fuels at a steady rate, they will expire soon and cause adverse effect to our planet.
Fossil fuels are not considered as sustainable energy sources because they are limited, cause immense pollution by releasing harmful gases and are not available everywhere on earth. Fossil fuels normally include coal, oil and natural gas. Steps must be taken to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels as pose dangerous to environment. Most of the counties have already started taking steps to make use of alternative energy sources. As of today, around 20% of world’s energy needs comes from renewable energy sources. Hydropower is the most common form of alternative energy used around the world.

What are examples of sustainable energy?
Thanks study dot com
They can never be depleted. Some examples of renewable energy sources are solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, geothermal energy, and biomass energy. These types of energy sources are different from fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
What is the most sustainable form of energy?
The most efficient forms of renewable energy geothermal, solar, wind, hydroelectricity and biomass. Biomass has the biggest contribution with 50%, followed by hydroelectricity at 26% and wind power at 18%. Geothermal energy is generated by harnessing the Earth's natural heat.
Why sustainable energy is important?
Thanks BuyCleanEnergyDotOrg For the excellent write up and tips.
Renewable energy also helps conserve the nation's natural resources. Renewable energy provides reliable power supplies and fuel diversification, which enhance energy security and lower risk of fuel spills while reducing the need for imported fuels. Renewable energy also helps conserve the nation's natural resources.
Energy efficiency is a key step to reducing our impact on climate change and creating a sustainable energy future. Every time you flip on a light switch, use your computer, take a hot shower, or turn on your heater, you're using energy. The average U.S. home uses about 11,000 kWh per year,1 and a large portion of that energy is wasted. By using less energy without sacrificing comfort, you can save money while helping the planet.
Small changes can add up to big savings. Here are 5 actions you can take today to start saving energy:
Use energy efficient lighting, like compact fluorescent (CFL) or LED light bulbs in your home and workplace
Turn down your water heater to the warm setting
Unplug your cell phone and laptop chargers when you're not using them
Use the energy-savings settings on the appliances you have and buy Energy Star–labeled appliances when you replace them.
Replace the filters in your furnace and air conditioner
