Get Your Pet a good home

As you may already know, I love to find pets forever homes and also I have a few of my own who are so dear to my heart.  Did you know that 7.5 million animals are put in shelters every year, 2.5 of those are from people that had to give up their pet. Of the 7.5 million animals put in shelters, 2.6 million of the animals are euthanized. By helping keep pets needing a new home out of shelters, we can potentially save 2.5 million pets a year.
My 11 yr old borador rescued from a kill shelter.

I would like to introduce you to Get Your Pet which is an online community that helps connect people who aren’t able to keep their pets directly to people who want to adopt them in their region; relieving shelters and saving animals’ lives all at the same time.

Even if you can not afford to bring a fur baby into your life, please consider spreading the word about this amazing community and help to give the pets of the world a chance to find the perfect home.

I knew in my heart that I wanted to rescue another fur baby and keep her out of the local kill shelter.  I had saw my Em's picture on a shelter website and just felt that it was the right thing to do.  I went down right away without knowing anything else about her and I was determined to get her no matter what they told me could be wrong.  A lot of people want puppies or young dogs, but I choose to share the last part of this borador's life with her because she needed a good solid home and lots of love.

Now it has been a few months later and I could not be happier.  I know that the cost of food is high and the care will be extensive, but I feel like my Em is so much healthier and happier plus I know she is being loved.  I did not know about the get your pet site or I would have tried to find a pet on there.  You do have to be super careful that people do not try to sell you a pet or that they are not from a puppy mill.   By adopting and not shopping you are doing so much for the pets that need the most love.

I am so fortunate to have all of my current pets and I feel like I am the one that was saved because they bering so much joy, love and happiness to my home and family.

I would really love it if you shared your pet rescue story with me in the comments section below.
