Keep the bath tub sparkling clean and free from harsh chemicals with the Chemical-free Cleaning Home Starter Kit from Baby Care by e-cloth®

Many moms think that using heavy-duty cleaners is the only way to battle germs but those harsh chemicals can pose serious risks to kid’s health such as eczema, airway irritation, eye irritation, allergies, and even poisoning!

The set includes the three core cloths to clean all major hard surfaces in the home without chemicals using just water. Set comes with Bathroom Cloth, General Purpose Cloth, and Glass & Polishing Cloth. MSRP: $19.99. Available online at

Cassandra's Review-  I was a little sceptical over just using water to clean.  I figured I would try the cloths and then go back over the surfaces with my regular cleaners.    I was very impressed with the way these actually work.  You can reuse them so it saves a lot of money.

This has no odor which can be kind of strange if you're use to a scent while cleaning.   I will use this for everyday cleaning and then once every few days go back and deeper clean with my regular cleaners but that is just for my own personal peace of mind.   I know that everyone has their own levels of clean.   If you happen to be someone that uses a baby wipe for everything, this might be a cheaper alternative and safer.

Expecting Sunshine by Alexis Marie Chute Review

After her son, Zachary, dies in her arms at birth, visual artist and author Alexis Marie Chute disappears into her “Year of Distraction.” She cannot paint or write or tap into the heart of who she used to be, mourning not only for Zachary, but also for the future they might have had together. It is only when Chute learns she is pregnant again that she sets out to find healing and rediscover her identity―just in time, she hopes, to welcome her next child.

In the forty weeks of her pregnancy, Chute grapples with her strained marriage, shaken faith, and medical diagnosis, with profound results. Glowing with riveting and gorgeous prose, Expecting Sunshine chronicles the anticipation and anxiety of expecting a baby while still grieving for the child that came before―enveloping readers with insightful observations on grief and healing, life and death, and the incredible power of a mother’s love.

Cassandra's Review-   Heartbreak, sadness, life goes on.  I think that because death is so constant and so many people die each day that it almost becomes easier to move on and past it without much thought of who it touched.   When the author shows you her pain and story you get a peek at just a small portion of what was really happening.

Words just will not describe the actual moments that this person must live and relive daily.   Yes over time it hurts less, but it is not forgotten and no one can create an atmosphere where it is fixed.  I hope that this book brought a pinch of closure for this author and that be sharing her story others might head toward a process of healing, the best one can.

The Great Good Thing By Andrew Klavan Review

Edgar Award-winner and internationally bestselling novelist tells of his improbable conversion from agnostic Jewish-intellectual to baptized Christian and of the books that led him there.

“Had I stumbled on the hallelujah truth, or just gone mad—or, that is, had I gone mad again?”

No one was more surprised than Andrew Klavan when, at the age of fifty, he found himself about to be baptized. Best known for his hard-boiled, white-knuckle thrillers and for the movies made from them—among them True Crime (directed by Clint Eastwood) and Don’t Say a Word (starring Michael Douglas)—Klavan was born in a suburban Jewish enclave outside New York City. He left the faith of his childhood behind to live most of his life as an agnostic in the secular, sophisticated atmosphere of New York, London, and Los Angeles. But his lifelong quest for truth—in his life and in his work—was leading him to a place he never expected.

In The Great Good Thing, Klavan tells how his troubled childhood caused him to live inside the stories in his head and grow up to become an alienated young writer whose disconnection and rage devolved into depression and suicidal breakdown. But he also stumbled into a genuine romance, a passionate and committed marriage whose uncommon and enduring devotion convinced him of the reality of love.

In those years, Klavan fought to ignore the insistent call of God, a call glimpsed in a childhood Christmas at the home of a beloved babysitter, in a transcendent moment at his daughter’s birth, and in a snippet of a baseball game broadcast that moved him from the brink of suicide. But more than anything, the call of God existed in stories—the stories Klavan loved to read and the stories he loved to write.

The Great Good Thing is the dramatic, soul-searching story of a man born into an age of disbelief who had to abandon everything he thought he knew in order to find his way to the truth.

Cassandra's Review-  When I read of someone else's truths, they become more open in my heart.  I felt connected to the author by the way he shares his thoughts so openly and took me on a journey of highs and lows but not for sympathy but, power.   I think some people write for fame, but this author seems to write for the love he expresses in God and self.

After the Cheering Stops By Cyndy Feasel with Mike Yorkey Review

Former NFL wife Cyndy Feasel tells the tragic story of her family’s journey into chaos and darkness resulting from the damage her husband suffered due to football-related concussions and head trauma—and the faith that saved her.

“If I’d only known what I loved the most would end up killing me and taking away everything I loved, I would have never done it.” – Grant Feasel

Grant Feasel spent ten years in the NFL, playing 117 games as a center and a long snapper mostly for the Seattle Seahawks. The skull-battering, jaw-shaking collisions he absorbed during those years ultimately destroyed his marriage and fractured his family. Grant died on July 15, 2012, at the age of 52, the victim of alcohol abuse and a degenerative brain disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE.

Cyndy Feasel watched their life together become a living hell as alcohol became Grant’s medication for a disease rooted in the scores of concussions he suffered on the football field. Helmet-to-helmet collisions opened the door to CTE and transformed him from a sunny, strong, and loving man into a dark shadow of his former self. In this raw and emotional memoir that takes a closer look at the destruction wrought by a game millions love, Cyndy describes in painful and excruciating detail what can happen to an NFL player and his family when the stadium empties and the lights go down. A powerful tale of warning for football moms and NFL wives everywhere, After the Cheering Stops is also a story of the hard-won hope found in God’s presence when everything else falls apart.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review-  Sadness and strength.  Horrible workings of life with the good and bad wide open.  The story of truth and healing through death.  To lose and to regain different parts of your being and to be able to express everything through this writing  where it was the rawness or sadness, made this book a must read.

The Witch of Lime Street by David Jaher Review

History comes alive in this textured account of the rivalry between Harry Houdini and the so-called Witch of Lime Street, whose iconic lives intersected at a time when science was on the verge of embracing the paranormal.

The 1920s are famous as the golden age of jazz and glamour, but it was also an era of fevered yearning for communion with the spirit world, after the loss of tens of millions in the First World War and the Spanish-flu epidemic. A desperate search for reunion with dead loved ones precipitated a tidal wave of self-proclaimed psychics—and, as reputable media sought stories on occult phenomena, mediums became celebrities.

Against this backdrop, in 1924, the pretty wife of a distinguished Boston surgeon came to embody the raging national debate over Spiritualism, a movement devoted to communication with the dead. Reporters dubbed her the blonde Witch of Lime Street, but she was known to her followers simply as Margery. Her most vocal advocate was none other than Sherlock Holmes' creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who believed so thoroughly in Margery's powers that he urged her to enter a controversial contest, sponsored by Scientific American and offering a large cash prize to the first medium declared authentic by its impressive five-man investigative committee.  Admired for both her exceptional charm and her dazzling effects, Margery was the best hope for the psychic practice to be empirically verified.  Her supernatural gifts beguiled four of the judges. There was only one left to convince...the acclaimed escape artist, Harry Houdini.

David Jaher's extraordinary debut culminates in the showdown between Houdini, a relentless unmasker of charlatans, and Margery, the nation's most credible spirit medium. The Witch of Lime Street, the first book to capture their electric public rivalry and the competition that brought them into each other’s orbit, returns us to an oft-mythologized era to deepen our understanding of its history, all while igniting our imagination and engaging with the timeless question: Is there life after death?

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review-  The author's talent shows through the pages of this really interesting read.  I thought that it would be a stuffy kind of old fashioned work, but it is so well executed that I did not want to put it down.  This is going to be a great book for anyone who loves a good real story with a twist.

60 Days of Happiness By Randy Alcorn Review

Would you like to experience true happiness?
When it comes to happiness, most of us have the same questions. Why can’t I be consistently happy? Is it wrong to be happy when there’s so much pain and suffering in the world? And perhaps the biggest one: How can I be happier? Some Christians make an artificial contrast between joy and happiness, while others claim God wants us to be holy, but not happy. In fact, he wants us to be both, and the two go hand in hand!

In 60 Days of Happiness, noted theologian and New York Times bestselling author Randy Alcorn shares sixty timeless devotions demonstrating that God not only wants us to be happy in him and enjoy his gifts, he commands and empowers us to do so.

Barbara’s Cheese Puffs Review

Barbara’s Cheese Puffs

Barbara’s Cheese Puffs  serve as an excellent alternative to pretzels or the typical potato chip. With 0g of trans fat, these irresistible cheese puffs are made to be addictively crispy and are bursting with the flavors of real cheeses. Varieties include Original, Jalapeno, Baked Original and Baked White Cheddar.

Cassandra's Review- If you have someone who can not tolerate certain things, this is worth the try.  I find them to be a bit flavorful for a few seconds and then they turn into more of a different taste which lingers as an aftertaste.  If you have ever tried the cereal, it almost taste like that but with cheese flavors mingled in.

4 Tips to Keeping Your Home Safe During Holiday Travel #ad

Traveling for the holidays is something my family always looks forward to. There's no better way to close out the year than by hitting the road, singing holiday songs at the top of our lungs, spending time with family and friends, and eating delicious food.
Ooma products can connect all of your devices.
But if you're anything like me, whenever you travel, a little voice in the back of your mind says, "Is my home safe? What if a fire breaks out? Could a pipe burst? Could a thief break in while I'm away?" So even though I love holiday travel, I'm never able to completely relax.

So I breathed a sigh of relief when I was contacted by Ooma—a leading internet home communications hub—with the opportunity to deliver 4 tips for keeping your home safe and secure when you're on the road this holiday. Before you lock your doors and hop in the car, make sure you follow these steps to ensure your home is safe.

Before leaving for an extended trip, it's important to lock in a safe temperature in your central heating system. If you live somewhere with cold winters, don't turn your thermostat off! To prevent your pipes from freezing, set the temperature lower than usual—ideally between 40 and 55 Fahrenheit. Live in a warmer climate? Leave the thermostat at about 69 Fahrenheit. Alternatively, you can completely avoid worry by controlling your thermostat remotely. Ooma detects when your thermostat is on "Away" mode and will automatically forward any home calls to your mobile device.

Always turn off gas-powered devices such as stoves, ovens, and fireplaces, and unplug all appliances. This can prevent any accidental fires and potentially hazardous carbon monoxide leaks into your home, as well as save energy. This is especially important if you have pets at home who can't defend themselves against unforeseen hazards. For an added layer of protection, be in the know—Ooma can warn you via text and direct you to call 911 when your Nest Protect smoke/carbon monoxide detector has been triggered.

When leaving home for several days, tell someone you trust where you'll be in case of emergency, such as a fire, burglary, or carbon monoxide leak. Friends staying in town or a thoughtful neighbor could be options. They can keep an eye out for suspicious activity and notify you of any out-of-the-ordinary occurrences. Ooma allows you to be notified immediately when 911 is dialed and you can call them or call police to investigate.

Thanks to technology, our homes are getting smarter and smarter. Did you know there are countless apps that can connect to systems in our homes—from central temperature to security systems, light bulbs to the Amazon Echo? The Ooma Telo seamlessly interacts with your favorite smart home products and services to make your home safer and more convenient than ever before. Whether it be increased levels of carbon monoxide or a home break-in, Ooma can be the first to alert you of any danger.

The Battle for Christmas Blast Giveaway $50 Amazon GC or Paypal Cash

battle-for-christmas The Battle for Christmas by Jeremy Hinshaw After training and practicing for the auditions, Andy's friends excelled. Andy, however, failed miserably. When the positions were posted, his worst fears came true - he was the only angel not given a job for the birth of Lord Jesus. Would Andy be the only angel not to have an assignment for this climactic event? How did Heaven defend Bethlehem from the onslaught of Lucifer and his horde of demons? amazon Praise for the Book This was a great book to bring alive the story of Jesus birth, especially for those who have heard it many times before. Although fiction, it challenges us to remember that we are not doing this on our own. There is a whole army of angels at our disposal. Thank you Jeremy for captivating my thoughts and painting such a glorious picture, not often considered when thinking of that blessed day. From the very beginning as you described the landscapes I was hooked. The details breaking out the characters and each one's place in the story are masterfully woven. The story is packed with enough intrigue, adventure, and truth to be enticing to readers of all ages, and especially the youth of today. Compared to other books I have read on the subject, this one takes the cake with its creative story-line that is jam packed with adventure, humor, and close-calls. I recommend this book to anyone that is a fan of adventure. A fresh take on the matter that is certain to wow its readers. Especially those interested in a view behind the veil that we all know exists! I loved The Battle for Christmas. Not only is it a book I’ll read again, but it’s also a book I can’t wait to share with my children and nieces and nephews. In The Battle for Christmas we get a great fantasy paired with reminders of our hope and our faith. Plus, what an adventure! I really liked Andy. He’s the type of character young readers will want to emulate, and one we’ll want our children to emulate. I think his gift is one we all struggle with and one of the most important. add to goodreads Excerpt“Who’s Andy?” one of the little ones asked. “This is outrageous! I’m going to tell you the story of the birth of Lord Jesus …” The nursery erupted with groans again. “But …” Stephen raised his hands to quiet them. “I’m going to tell you about Andy the Angel and how Lord Jesus’s birth really happened.” David floated back to the ground and looked at Stephen with distrust. The small angels murmured and mumbled questions. “Whaddya mean, ‘How it really happened?’” one small angel asked. “It’s written in the Bible, and we all have heard it, read it, and recited it countless times—and who is Andy?” “Yes, yes. You’ve read it in the Bible.” Stephen raised his hands again to quiet the dissention. “And what the Bible says is true, but it’s written for men and how they saw the events of that day. It’s not the only account of that blessed day.

“You see, many of us in Heaven worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen. There were some moments when we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to pull it off. We fought off demons, helped humankind bring about fulfillment of Scripture, and did many other things to make sure Lord Jesus’s birthday was going to happen. “Of course, if you don’t want to know how it happened here in Heaven, or what happened to Andy, that’s fine …”

When God Isn't There By David Bowden Review

Why does God feel so far away? Why is my worship so empty? Has God left me?

David Bowden knows these questions firsthand, having wrestled for years with God’s apparent absence and studying what the Bible says about it. In this new book, Bowden tackles the subject head-on, finding the key to understanding it in the Bible’s depiction of a God who is infinitely far from us, free to move where he wants, but who chooses to come near in the person of Jesus.

A resource of encouragement for those who struggle with feeling God’s absence and a wake-up call to those who take God’s presence for granted, When God Isn’t There will forever change your understanding of why God sometimes seems to vanish and how he can be found again.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review- Yikes, this author has a lot of views and is very forthcoming with them.  It just did not feel right to me to read, but I am a reviewer and for the sake of finishing, I did.  While I am not a set faith, I do have strong belief in God.  I do not ask that anyone bend or side with anything they are not comfortable with and this book may do just that.

The author probably just chose a poor topic that he might not be especially well versed in.  I would not turn down the chance to read a second book by this author, but I would not take what he has to say to heart.

Watch By Rick James Review

To be asleep is to be oblivious to being oblivious. The danger of sleep is the danger of carbon monoxide: it’s colorless and odorless, and you’re anesthetized before you know it—before you ever hit the floor. And for the follower of Jesus, it’s just as dangerous—because the Christian who is “asleep” is spiritually unreceptive. If anything will be our undoing, sleep will.

In this thoughtful, engaging, challenging book, Rick James dives deep into the New Testament’s teachings on spiritual wakefulness, calling Christ-followers to defy the darkness and remain awake as they await Christ’s return. Because being awake—continually in prayer, watchful for God’s will, expectant of open doors, cautious of sin, desiring to serve, eager to repent, continuously giving thanks, willing to witness, embracing of humility, overflowing with kindness, persevering in obedience—changes everything.

Cassandra's Review Q&A-

What did you like about the book and why?  I like that it moves the spirit in a Christian to do more while in turn trying to wake up the spirit.

- What did you not like about the book and why?  It is not that I do not like it, but that author does fill this book more so with ideas then fact.

- What did you learn?  I feel like the author teaches through a lighter tone and can help to really reach deeper to bring out the light.

- To whom would you recommend this book and why?  Adult Christians would be the target audience as they will benefit the most as well as connect.

The Eye of Nefertiti by Maria Luisa Lang Review

The Eye of Nefertiti is both a stand-alone novel and a sequel to The Pharaoh’s Cat. The time-traveling ancient Egyptian feline with human powers returns together with his beloved Pharaoh and his close friends, the High Priest of Amun-Ra and Elena, an Egyptologists daughter.

The cat is quick-witted, wise-cracking narrator as well as free-spirited, ever-curious protagonist, and the story he tells is an exotic, imaginative, spell-binding tragicomedy. The cat travels from present-day New York City to England, both ancient and modern, then to ancient Egypt, where he confronts a horrible demon and experiences a sublime emotion.

Once back in England, he descends into a psychological abyss so deep only the Pharaoh can save him. The Eye of Nefertiti interweaves feline and human, past and present, natural and supernatural. It contains numerous surprises, twists and turns, intriguing characters, both human and animal, fascinating revelations about ancient Egyptian history and culture, and an ingenious application of the Tarot and an Italian opera
Maria Luisa Lang
Maria Luisa Lang has published two novels, The Pharaoh’s Cat and The Eye of Nefertiti, which is both a sequel to The Pharaoh’s Cat and a stand-alone novel.

She was born in Rome, Italy, and lives in New York City. She often returns to Italy to visit her family and has stayed for extended periods in Bath and London.

She has a degree in art from the City University of New York, and her artwork has been exhibited in New York galleries. She is an amateur Egyptologist. Her love of cats and ancient Egypt has inspired her to write two novels set there with a very special cat as her protagonist.

Both The Pharaoh’s Cat and The Eye of Nefertiti are available on Amazon in paperback and in a Kindle edition.

I received a complimentary copy.

Cassandra's Review-  The book two was easy to follow, even though I did not read book one so it is indeed a stand alone.   My opinion is that you should read book one first, just because there could be a really cool story there as well that would connect more so.

The author has a good pace going which helps get through the shorter pages.  Should you have to stop between chapters it is not hard to put the book down.  I would say because of the mix of magic and imagination this book will take the reader on an awesome journey and it helps to be a cat lover.

I recevied complimentary product.

Cassandra's Review-  Very soft and easy to place on.  The sock tops are going to be challenging for a baby to take off, if they can.   They do restrict the use of a baby's fingers and get soak and wet if you have a baby that sucks on them.  They can be easily washed and dried.   They are perfect for a child that scratches themselves.

I have been told the brand has sizes for adults.

I do not see that on the site, but I might be overlooking them.  The added wrist cover is what sets these apart from using baby socks which is what I was doing for my older kids when they were young and keeps them from being pulled off all of the time.

Master Caster Roll-Arounds Instant Swivel Wheels and Smarter gloves @shoplet Review

Shoplet carries an assortment of office supplies, cleaning supplies, medical supplies, office furniture, and everything in between.

Master Caster Roll-Arounds Instant Swivel Wheels

Instant Swivel Wheels:
Master Caster Roll-Arounds Instant Swivel Wheels

360 swivel action allows smooth rolling in any direction. Unique patented mounting options, angled, flat or u-shaped. Each set of 4 wheels holds up to 250 lbs. Attaches securely to most smooth surfaces, vinyl, plastic, wood, corrugated board, and masonite. Specially formatted adhesive bonds tightly and hold permanently. No tools needed, just peel, stick and roll. Caster/Glide/Wheel: Swivel Wheel Color: Black Stem Type: Self-Adhesive Weight Capacity text: 250 lbs. Per Set.

Cassandra's Review- Anything that you want to roll that is less than 250 pounds and can have the adhesive attached will work.   I did not think the tabs would stay on and that the wheels would certainly break, but they are holding strong so far.

Smarter Gloves:

Innovative microfiber gloves feature specially designed fibers in the fingertips for touch-screen activation without removing gloves. Great for cleaning your touch screen and using your touch screen in cold weather. Use the lint-free, static-free, odor-free gloves safely on any electronic touch screen including computer tablets, music devices, texting devices, portable phones, reading devices and GPS.

Soft microfibers gently clean touch screens without scratching and remove fingerprints, smudges and streaks without removing your gloves. Design lets you use all five fingers to activate any touchscreen device. Microfiber Dual Action Smarter Gloves are washable and reusable.
Master Caster Dual Action Microfiber Gloves

Cassandra's Review-  The gloves are not super bulky and kept my hands pretty warm, they can get wet so once you touch ice or snow water, they are just kind of soggy and I had to take them off.   The gloves do work, but I would have preferred waterproof because I am usually out in the worst weather.

I recevied complimentary product.
