90's Fun with Pressman Toys Games Review

As Seen on Site:

Beware as you embark on this treacherous journey! In The Oregon Trail: Hunt for Food Card Game, you must work together with your fellow travelers to collect 600 pounds of meat. However, you will face many deadly threats during your hunt: you might get bitten by a snake, break your leg, or get trapped by obstacles and never make it back to the trail.

In this game, each roll can be a life-or-death matter. For example, as a team, you must roll a 1 or 2 to kill a bear. With these odds, you must determine the best way to reach 600 pounds of meat. If at least one member of your party survives to collect 600 pounds of meat, everyone wins. It’s harder than it sounds.

Luckily, if you have our original The Oregon Trail Card Game, you can play this game as an extension or on its own. This add-on feature will allow you to carry your food and supplies to our original game. However, if you die in this game, both games are over.

Despite these obstacles, rest assured that this team-dynamic game will bring you and your fellow comrades closer than ever as you trek along The Oregon Trail. With 2-6 players, ages 12 and up, the possibilities are endless. Will you kill a bison? Or die from drowning? Your fate depends on your strategic skills, teammates, and even your dice.

Are you up for the challenge? Bring this classic computer game to life and gather your fellow travelers for The Oregon Trail: Hunt for Food Card Game, exclusively at Target.

Cassandra's Review-  This time around I did things a little differently. I invited older people to play instead of my kids for a change, why you may ask...The games are all 90's nostalgia with an update and I wanted the best chance for a great experience.  Sure the kids gotta play after the adults this time around.   The extension game can also be played by itself and was fun after reading and explaining all the rules as well as checking out the instructional video from pressman toys.
Calling all ACME agents to figure out Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?!?! Can you handle this challenge, Gumshoes? It looks like Carmen’s gang has pulled another caper.

Pressman

In the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Card Game, you will be on a top-secret mission to recover the greatest treasures known to mankind – The Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty’s Torch, and more. Get ready to jet set across the globe. Your assignment is to apprehend Carmen Sandiego, track the location of her hideout, and determine which loot she stole.

Gumshoes, your goal is to eliminate as many Loot, Location, and Henchman Cards as possible by finding the matching Loot and Location Cards. This will ultimately lead you to Carmen Sandiego and one Loot-Location Card set.  Just like any good detective, you must be vigilant in collecting evidence to solve this mystery. In your Top-Secret Evidence Journals, keep track of your fellow Gumshoes’ cards by writing down their Location and Loot Cards and whether they’re at the top, center, or bottom of their piles.

If you do not know where Carmen is but you think you’ve discovered matching Loot and Location Cards, call out “I have a warrant!” Once you zero in on Carmen’s location, you must declare “I have a warrant for Carmen’s arrest.” The first Gumshoe to make a Loot-Location match and successfully reveal Carmen wins the game. But beware, if you make an incorrect accusation, Carmen can escape!

Can you Catch Carmen? The search is on with this game, available exclusively at Target.

Cassandra's Review- There was not a lot ot this game and I think I was super hyped about the idea of a game that would be exactly like the PC game, while it is not, we did have fun after reading the longer instructions and trying this one out.
Welcome to the Hidden Temple! Where the rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legends behind the treasures in his temple. Six teams will begin their journey, but only one will earn the chance to enter the Temple and retrieve the lost treasure. But beware – to earn this privilege, you must endure tests of fortitude and intelligence, winning the Pendants of Life to protect you from the dreaded Temple Guards who are protecting the artifacts. Do you have what it takes to take on all three rounds and escape from the Temple in time? The choices are yours and yours alone!

To be victorious, you must retrieve a lost treasure and successfully escape the Temple as a team or individually. With your fellow contestants, you must decide what lost treasure you seek. In round 1, the first three teams to cross the treacherous Moat twice will advance to the next round. One player from the eliminated team becomes Olmec and another eliminated player becomes the host, Kirk Fogg.

Round 2 takes you to the Steps of Knowledge, where you will undergo various mental challenges. Be one of the first two teams to answer two questions correctly. Listen carefully as the Olmec reads the legend aloud for clues, as correct answers are the only way to earn a chance to enter Olmec’s Temple.

Your strength and speed will be tested in round 3: The Temple Games. Compete to earn Pendants of Life in three rigorous challenges, including the Golden Cup of Belshazzar, Galileo’s Cannonball, and The Smashed Printing Plate of Frederick Douglass. If you make it through all three and earn the most Pendants of Life, you may finally enter the Temple!

Alas, round 4: The Temple Run! You must race through the Temple, retrieve the lost treasure, and escape. Your time begins as soon as Olmec lowers his gate. Watch out for the Temple Guards and be mindful of the clock, for you only have three minutes to complete your mission – or you will be trapped in the Temple forever. Are you brave enough to uncover the legends of the Hidden Temple?

Cassandra's Review- If you have never seen the show, this might be a bit hard to figure out.  While the instructions are clear and the instructional video is on point, some of my guests still king of struggled and I think it is because there was so many active players at one time it became overwhelming to keep track and keep things fair.   The younger kids would not play it and the adults had fun to a point.  It is a super cool game based on an actual TV show back ion the day.
RING! Class is back in session at Bayside High School! You’ll be reaching “squad goals” with Zack, Jessie, Kelly, Slater, Lisa, and Screech as you hit the school hallways or visit The Max, your favorite cafĂ© hangout. In the official Saved by the Bell Game, you’ll relive the classic 90’s sitcom and the unforgettable episodes.

Whether you identified as a trouble maker like Zack, a jock like Slater, a nerd like Screech, a beauty queen like Kelly, a fashionista like Lisa or a straight-A student like Jessie – there’s something for everyone to channel their high school self! To begin, select your favorite player to travel throughout this retro-90s gameboard visiting various locations such as homeroom, Zach’s room, and more.

Your homework assignment: Be the first player to collect one of each Character Card, or 3 Character Cards of the same player. Once you spin “View a Scene,” you’ll have a few seconds to glance at snapshots of classic scenes from the show. Be prepared to answer random questions. So, study up and don’t flunk this memory test to win a Character Card!

If you spin a number, you must move your character that number of spaces on the board. You can land on “Time Out” and steal from your fellow players. You’ll even receive your own Yearbook to collect your Character Cards, but don’t doodle on Zack – you must be focused to get an A+! Once you’ve collected one card of each Character or three cards of a single Character, you’ve won the game and you’ve been… Saved by the Bell!

Cassandra's Review- While I LOVE to teach my kids all about the games I played in my youth as well as shows etc, total nostalgia fan by the way.  This game was not fun for my younger kids.  Unfortunately they had no idea what was going on.  The game would be an amazing blast of past fun for anyone who was familiar with the show or a super fan.  I was so glad to have invited adults to play with me this time around because there was a cool factor flowing throughout the game play.

I really have a great time trying out the complimentary games that I received.
