THE SPRINKLES BAKING BOOK by Candace Nelson Review

The Sprinkles Baking Book

The New Great American Baking Book has arrived in a special debut from the chef and creator of Sprinkles and judge of Cupcake Wars, Candace Nelson—THE SPRINKLES BAKING BOOK: 100 Secret Recipes from Candace’s Kitchen, publishing from Grand Central Life & Style on October 25, 2016. The whole family will enjoy this book on both ordinary days and special occasions of every sort.

When chef and owner Candace Nelson opened America’s first cupcake-only bakery in 2005, people thought she was crazy. “What else do you sell,” they’d ask. But on opening day they sold out, and have pretty much every day since. Today, Candace has expanded Sprinkles to 20 locations and isn’t planning to slow down. In THE SPRINKLES BAKING BOOK, she shares the recipes and stories that have been a part of her life and her customers’ lives, including special confectionary collaborations with celebrities from Blake Likely to Michael Strahan. There are also 50 of Candace’s all-time favorite desserts with recipes for cakes, pies, quick breads, cookies, bars, ice cream treats, and other all-American classics for every occasion, reflecting the chic, understated elegance that has become a Sprinkles signature.

Sprinkles is also famous for its 12 cupcake ATMs, with more on the way, and a traveling Sprinklesmobile. Furthermore, the company is continuing its foray into classic American desserts with the launch of Sprinkles Ice Cream as well as cookies. Overall, THE SPRINKLES BAKING BOOK is much more than a cupcake cookbook: Candace, indeed, shares 50 Sprinkles cupcake recipes in all their variations (with directions to bake them as cakes, too!) including both true classics and new flavors created exclusively for the book, from Banana Cupcakes and Vanilla Milk Chocolate Cupcakes with Milk Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting to Cupcake Sundae with Salted Butterscotch Sauce. Cassandra's review-  If you have a sweet tooth and a little extra money on hand, this book is going to be a real treat.  The author has great tips and ideas as well as excellent recipes that my family really had fun learning about.  Some they actually want to try which is great!
